Week 3 Channel Selection
Selected Channels:
Based on our objective and goals we have chosen to use the following 3 channels for our digital media campaign:
Email Marketing - we chose this channel because it is reliable and most effective.
Viral Marketing - we chose this channel because its known to bring brand awareness to pre-existing social networks, by creating viral messages to individuals with high social networking potential.
Display Advertisement- we chose this channel because its another avenue to bring awarness to our brand with current information on different websites.
We chose not to use SEO and Paid search/pay to click advertisement; based our research these were the two most expensive channels and because we don't actually sell a service or product on our site we dont believe it would be as beneficial as the other channels.
Images of Me, is a small company so our budget for digital marketing is not very big. We will use approximately $5,000. for our digital media campaign.
50% of our budget will be spent on email marketing
30% of our budget will be spent on viral marketing
20% if our budget will be spent on display advertising
The campaign will last approximately 6 months.

There are often images consistently being imprinted upon Black Women in the mass media. It is my mission to bring age positive, life-changing activity and critical thinking to young women of color, to help foster their dreams of a better tomorrow without compromising their integrity and self worth today. For this purpose I have created my company, Images of Me.
Images of Me, will offer workshops, seminars, after school and summer programs to young women of color ages 8 -14. The programs will speak to the next generation of young women during their formative years on issues of self-worth, goals, aspirations and the image of women of color today. The programs will be presented as an educational program inspired by the hip-hop and youth culture.
Images of Me will make money by charging a fee to participants or organizations like schools, churches or other business that are interested in our programs. We will offer an 8-month enrichment programs, which will feature bi-weekly workshops, mentoring and community service from September until April. The cost for this program is $250 or $50/monthly. We will also offer a summer program from June until August. This program will $300 or $30 a week, meeting 5 days a week(times will vary). In general a typical dollar value per participant in one of our programs will cost approximately $200.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (www.bls.gov) the number of jobs for community service is expected to increase 21% by 2016. Images of Me is a community based service program the projected outlook appears to be above average for jobs in this area.
The cost for participation in our program is below that of our main competitors. Our programs are catered for children in low-income urban areas.
Based on demographic information(May 2010) from Quantcast about Girls inc.com I would describe the audience of a company l like mine as:
63% female, 22% 13 - 17, 61% White, 15% African-American , 16% Hispanic
42% college educated, 40% no college.
Images of Me will be promoted to both business and consumers.
